Clean your Air with these Filtering Plants!
Plants don’t just make your home look beautiful and natural, they’ll actually help to improve the quality of your home’s air.
With all of the toxins and VOC’s in the air thanks to your bleach, detergents, laminated floors, paints, new furniture and memory foam mattresses unless they’re natural, having a few plants in your home could go a very long way towards cleaning up the air you breathe.
But which plants are the best to use?
Bamboo Palm — If you want a low maintenance plant that will clean up your air, a bamboo palm is your best option
Almost as durable as regular bamboo, this beautiful plant can remove formaldehyde from your home’s air. As long as it gets plenty of water and a couple of hours of sunlight each day, the plant will grow healthy and strong!
Rubber Plant — This plant requires a lot of water, but it will grow well even in low-light, cool rooms. It is one of the best at removing formaldehyde from the air, and it’s one of the most durable plants around!
Peace Lily — Did you know that this plant can eliminate ammonia, acetone, alcohol, and even benzene from your air supply? It’s prone to bug infestations, though, so you’ll need to wash the leaves every once in a while to keep it clean. It’s a beautiful flower that grows well indoors, and adds an elegant touch to your décor.
Lady Palm — Growing this plant indoors may be a bit of a challenge, but it’s worth it to suck the ammonia and other toxins from the air. It’s very bug-resistant, and it’s easy to keep clean provided you trim the tips of the palm fronds regularly.
English Ivy — Not only does this plant add a beautiful green touch to your home, but it freshens up the air by removing formaldehyde. You can use it as a wall plant, a hanging plant, or even a centerpiece. As long as you give it a regular misting (particularly during the winter), it will be a great choice for your home.
With these plants, you can make your home look natural all the while cleaning the air you and your family breathes!
